3 Reasons Why You Need to Tell a Story (4/29/05)
1. It demonstrates a return on a donor’s investment. People are giving so that lives will be changed as you and I are used as instruments of the Lord. 2. It gives people an opportunity to very specifically pray for individuals needing to be transformed or have been transformed by the Lord. It is one thing to pray in generalities for your ministry and far more personal to pray for a person. 3. People relate to people. As a person preaches or teaches we are all ears when a story is told. If you want to effectively communicate your vision it is absolutely essential that it be framed in a story. The Lord is in the business of changing lives, we need to be a part of that and communicate it to others through stories. Whether speaking at a church, meeting with a missions committee, writing a letter, conducting an appointment, paint a picture of a changed life. Don’t get sidetracked by statistics, facts and figures. People need to hear the stories. Copyright 2005
