People Raising: Newsletter Archives 3 Occasions to Upgrade Your Donors (3/11/08) Everyone I talk to loves to see their donors upgrade their giving. I can think of 3 occasions when you need to seriously consider contacting your donors and asking them to upgrade their giving. 1. Increased Income Any time you hear or sense your donors are in the position of seeing their income increase, that is a great time to make contact. It could be a promotion, a sale of property etc. 2. Reduced Expenses Any time there are reduced expenses, that can mean more available funds to give away. It could be the last college payment for a couple’s children. Maybe the last mortgage payment. All are indicators that their economic condition is changing for the good. 3. Expanded Vision This part rests with you and your vision. People find ways to support those they know, trust and care for when they sense God at work in their vision casting. When the Lord lays on your heart a project or plan that needs to be funded, that is the time you can go back to those faithful supporters and ask them to upgrade their giving.
