But the #1 fund raising sin is FAILING TO TAKE ACTION and it could be wrapped up in one word -- PROCRASTINATION. Webster defines procrastination as “to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done”. Each of us has his or her list of prospects and donors to call to ask for a gift, update, or to thank. It is vitally important that we accomplish these tasks. Remember we have an assignment from the Lord Himself which needs to be accomplished. Another year is quickly coming to a close. December is prime time to be in front of your prospects and donors. Soon 2009 will quickly slip by and fund raising opportunities will be lost. If you fail to take action, there is another thing that can very easily crop up that is even more crippling than procrastination-DISCOURAGEMENT. You dare not procrastinate. Make your list of those you need to contact yet this year and go for it! You won’t be disappointed.
