3 Types of Face-to-Face Meetings (7/20/05)
There are 3 types of face-to-face fund raising meetings. 1. Meeting to build a relationship without asking for funds People give to people they know, trust and care for. If you are in the process of building that relationship, meeting to build a relationship without asking for funds is not only appropriate but wise. Prospects need to hear your vision and story and sense your heart. 2. Meeting to ask for a gift If you want to maximize your fund raising opportunities, it is critical that you plan a face to face meeting in which you share your vision and passion and ask for a gift. People need to be asked and challenged and there is no better way than to do it in person. 3. Meeting to grow and cultivate your relationship with your donors Just because a person gave does not mean they will always give or give at that level. We need to grow and cultivate that donor and meeting with them from time to time will build that bond. Failing to pursue these types of meetings can really impact your fund raising. Copyright 2005

"I thank God that your seminar came along... We walked into fundraising expecting a nightmare and found a dream too good to be true through God's provision."
