Think relationship, and capacity to give, when you build your prospect list

From time to time, I hear it said that to be successful in your fund raising you need to have a list of several hundred people. That is a nice goal but I want you to focus on relationship and capacity to give. Over and over again I have seen people raising funds with a small list, but they have people with whom they have strong relationships and people who are very capable of giving.

Focus on the relationship and capacity to give, in developing your list, and not the size of your list.
